There are just a few short months before graduation, and we are all eager to explore the next phase of our lives. As you prepare to graduate, remember to celebrate your victories and make the most of your last semester. There are plenty of things to check out in Lincoln, and you can get started with these 5 ideas.
1. Catch a Show Downtown
Look at events going on at the Lied Center and PBA. If you enjoy comedy, Jeff Dunham has a comedy tour in Lincoln on April 27. My favorite show I saw was last spring when I watched my friend perform in The Play That Goes Wrong. The Nebraska Repertory Theatre has entertaining shows put on by students.
2. Check Out Husker Events
Watch a game downtown at Pinnacle Bank Arena (PBA) for Huskers basketball or Haymarket Park for Huskers baseball. See for yourself what makes Nebraska Fans so special! You can find all upcoming sporting events and other campus activities on Nebraska’s Event Calendar.
3. Take a Break
School gets busy, and sometimes we need a break from all studying. Some budget-friendly options to take advantage of are Value Tuesday at Marcus Theatres and free skating at Breslow Hockey Center. You can also look forward to sunny spring afternoons and enjoy a walk on trails at Holmes Lakes and Pioneers Park.
4. Try New Places to Eat
My favorite places to grab brunch are Cook’s Cafe and Good Evans. If you want to stick closer to campus, The Foundry, The Coffee House and The Mill are perfect study sports. Check out Lincoln by mouth to find new spots around Lincoln.
5. Get Ready to Graduate
It’s time to hop on the job search. Build your network and engage with professionals; popular platforms include LinkedIn, Handshake and Indeed. Your college also has career advisors that you can find on the Student Success Hub to assist with application processes. Don’t forget to celebrate your successes! Taking graduation photos or writing notes to your mentors are great ways to reflect on your experience.
